Weeks and weeks

Well folks,

I'm finally updating this dang thing. I know it LOOKS like I haven't updated in over a year, but I actually updated not-too-long ago, but deleted it because the post was a bit unprofessional. Now, it doesn't matter (as much) because I am FINALLY gainfully
employed! LET'S HAVE A PARTY.

You KNOW Elvis knew how to throw a good party.

I'd have a party on these glorious purple stairs:

Nevermind the danger. I'd tumble down and do a dance on that BALLER coffee table.

via the lovely Erin on design crisis.

I'd serve appetizers, like maybe some southwest eggrolls or some JELL-O shots on this table:

You'd eat off it, right? Me, too. I think I'd sleep on it.

I'd be sure to invite David Bowie-Ben Franklin, because what would a party be without lightning bolts and C-Notes?

Lame, that's what. Also via design-milk.

Then, after the party, we'd have to have another, more chill party. Because nobody would want it to end.

Everybody loves sandwiches. (Me especially.) via nostalgie de la boue.

That's all, y'all!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND...

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Holy moly, I'm back!

Not that anyone was awaiting my return or anything...

So the reason for my sudden return (and welcome motivation to blog more often) is that Erin from Design for Mankind (one of my favorite blogs, possibly primarily for the surplus of triangular shapes and great color combinations) is doing an iPad2 giveaway. Can you believe it?! Visit this link to read more and enter the giveaway!

So go there and enter to win an expensive gadget. You know you want to!

Also in living memory of Erin, here are some chairs I'm sure she would enjoy (and it's entirely possible I got these off her blog!)

Until next time, dear readers, read and heed:

Don't call it a comeback

Hi all,

Did you have a good weekend? I did. Spent a lot of time lazing around having fun, then went to the East Lansing Art Festival. I think I've been spoiled by the Ann Arbor Art Fair my whole life, but I appreciated the brevity of the East Lansing one. MUCH smaller and more bearable, especially in that heat. Wow.

Ok, some cool stuff for today.

I really like the art of Mischief Champion. Some of it is just too funny.

If you haven't heard of Pinterest, definitely check it out. They are still in the works, so I am eagerly awaiting my account!!!

Pinterest lets users create image boards based on their specifications: design, cooking, art, typography, furniture, ideas for future decorating, or just to collect ideas. I think it's GENIUS.

Later, all!

Pretty Young Thing

Hi all,

Two jobs and stuff to do makes for a neglected blog. Sorry. I thought I'd find more time for this since graduating, but alas...

First up, this is just friggin' adorable.

Deer with sooocckkksss!!! via my love for you...

I'm also digging this birdcage image. Y'all know I have a thing for birds.

via oh joy.

Finally, the art from mydeadpony is amazing. If I ever get time to do my own art, you will definitely see some influences coming in from here.

Have a good weekend all!

Buy myself a grey guitar and play

Today I've been noticing how much I like fur/skin rugs. I would never want one in my own home, I don't think, but don't they look nice?

This one especially. It doesn't even look like an interior floor. More like a swamp or something.

I am wild 'n' crazy about this bookshelf/entertainment unit. It's wonderfully retro and open. Love the grain and the color. Mmm.

Awww yeaaah!!! The Disco Dome!

If I had an iPhone (like I keep saying, I don't own an i-Anything) it would have a cover like this:

Too cool.

If you haven't been to "thx thx thx: a thank-you note a day," you should check it out.

I think this post is particularly fitting for this point in my life:

That's all for today! Have a great weekend!

Books are for wearing.

Hi all.

So I'm officially a graduate of Michigan State University. How about that?

WHO WANTS TO HIRE ME?!?

Some interesting stuff today, but a quick post.

Check out the Fish Condo. I imagine this might be a pain to take down and clean, but what if you stacked like six of these and made a tower?

I am loving the art of Adam Simpson.

There is a very clever use of color at play here (or a lackthereof). I like it. via all the mountains.

I know quite a few people who would just freak out over these necklaces...

From Etsy shop TheBlackSpotBooks. via double takes.

Take it easy, all!
